CarolO -- I agree that cost can be a factor in our hobby. Of course, DIY can often bring down those costs. You can likely find similar suction cup plastic hangers in your local bath/kitchen supply stores. Good luck with your project!

I've been very interested in setting up my 2-55 gallon tanks riparium style but must either find an alternative to those hanging baskets or try to make my own out of plastic pop bottles or plastic glasses. The cost of a those plastic pots is expensive and to do two tanks would cost me $100 that I could use for buying plants. Not sure why a plastic pot with a suction cup needs to cost so much.

Hi, the product is great and you explained it well. If one is based in the US, then it is hard to get a better product for less money, the hanging planters can be used on a aquarium or on a riparium/paludarium.

The issue is when someone lives in europe, as the shipping will easily make the product too expensive, especially when the hangers are nothing more than shower caddies. I managed to obtain large caddies from ebay for about £5 each, and smaller ones for £2. Those I now sell as hanging planters to friends and family, for use on fish tanks, or in the kitchen for herbs.

The only items that one cannot find in Europe, unless you make your own, is the trellis, there are really good uses for it, and I can imagine it being used on Discus biotope setup with floating plants, paludarium or even with frogs. The concept is indeed amazing.

The product would take the UK by storm if Riparium supply contacts the pet shops chains and shows what it can do, but the shipping charges is the killer.

I've been talking to Hydrophyte too. :) He's on AquariaCentral.com where I hang out the majority of the time. He's a great guy to work with. I can't wait to place my first order with him. I'm planning to setup a 20 gallon high also.
